In this episode of “Organizing Life’s Daily Demands,” Peter Gordon has a discussion with Allison Jaffe, a broker and specialist in real estate for seniors, who is affiliated with Key Real Estate Services. Additionally, she collaborates with the Orion Resource Group. Both the Orion Resource Group and Key Real Estate Services provide guidance, support, and mentorship to senior citizens, ensuring their overall well-being. Key Real Estate Services, in particular, focuses on assisting their clients with housing and other real estate requirements.
Alison has been working in the real estate industry for almost 2 decades. Allison’s early career as a real estate salesperson underwent a transformation when she coincidentally handled the sale of an estate property. Someone had unfortunately passed away, and The deceased individual’s executor, as is customary, had already retired and relocated from the New York region, coinciding with the advanced age of the elderly relatives in their eighties and nineties. Residing in Florida, the executor had the responsibility of selling his uncle’s house in the Bronx, which required thorough cleaning and potential repairs due to the natural aging process of homes.
This fortuitous event served as an eye-opener for Allison, exposing her to a whole new realm. Subsequently, she encountered other instances where she worked with older clients, leading her to realize the significant disparities within this particular market segment. As this realization solidified, she discovered a unique opportunity to not only improve her own life but also positively impact the lives of individuals during their most vulnerable moments. Given this, she went on to create her very own enterprise, Key Real Estate Services.
Key Real Estate Services is a locally owned business based in New York that specializes in providing real estate assistance and expertise to senior citizens. Unlike generalist real estate brokers, senior real estate specialists approach transactions with a focus on the transitional aspect rather than just the transactional aspect.
When seniors decide to sell their house or apartment after residing there for a significant period of time, it is often due to a life change, whether positive or negative. Additionally, if their family has moved away to different parts of the country, they may not be physically present to handle the process themselves. Furthermore, they may not be aware of the local resources available to them. This is where Key Real Estate comes in, as they possess the knowledge and skills required to assist seniors in achieving their real estate goals and finding the perfect property.
Covering a wide range of locations from Monticello to Montauk, Key Real Estate Services represents homeowners and estates in 11 counties across the New York metro area. Their commitment lies in ensuring that each and every client receives exceptional care and valuable advice throughout their real estate journey.
