Years ago, I was working with a challenging client. I was on a phone call with him, per his request, with an attorney. While he was challenging, I handled it well, and the attorney appreciated how I handled it. She contacted me a few weeks later and said that she had a client that she wanted me to talk to. Hi, I’m Peter Gordon and I am a daily money manager and president of New York Financial Organizers. We help people, pay their bills and deal with all the non financial or non investment finance.
I was referred to a client of the attorney who had macular degeneration. One of the great things she did was to set up an estate plan early on. That’s what I want to talk about setting up a team of people to help you as you age.
As I got to know her, I could see that while she was able to coordinate her care, she had an aid to help her walk, but it was failing. I talked to her about a geriatric care manager, but she wasn’t ready yet. After some time, she was in the hospital, following a heart attack. I came by and again talked about a geriatric care manager, and I was pleased that she agreed to the care manager.
The care manager came in and was able to coordinate her care. So, she didn’t have to worry about getting to the eye doctor or going to her cardiologists, all of this was put in place. Yes, she’s fortunate that she has the funds to do this, but more importantly, she’s willing to ask for help.
When you do that, and you have a team of people, you get great results. So, if this resonates with you, feel free to call me whether it’s about yourself, a client, or a family member. I’m more than happy to share information and, and, and how you can get help, whether it’s from me or from the other people that I work with.
