Organizing Life’s Daily Demands with Josh Fields
In this episode of “Organizing Life’s Daily Demands,” Peter Gordon interviews Josh Fields, Sr. Associate Broker in NYC with Spire Group and real estate agent in CT with Berkshire Hathaway. Josh works with Spire Group and Berkshire Hathaway, both prominent companies involved with real estate, working with customers to promote a better buying experience. Josh and his team are transforming and improving the process of real estate engagements and sales, providing better advantages for other agents in the field while also promoting superior services to their clients.
Josh’s experience is a remarkable and inspiring tale. He is a real estate broker who has been working in New York for 22 years. His journey started when he joined a networking group about 25 years ago. Josh met Kevin Carland, a real estate agent with City Habitats. Kevin was looking into breaking off from the company and starting his own business, Carland Realty. He invited Josh along to help promote its growth as he had experience in printing and stationary letterheads.
Josh started by giving Kevin leads on potential clients who were looking for apartments and condos. Around the summer of 2001, Josh became a licensed real estate agent. The business started growing fast in 2012, and Josh moved his focus to real estate for residential businesses in New York. In the meantime, Kevin partnered with another agent, Bianco Yankov, on January 1st, 2010, making them the first 100% commission-based company in New York. This company platform would accelerate their growth, as more agents were favorable to the concept. Their name would also change from Carland Realty to SPIRE Group.
Unfortunately, Yankov was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019. On Josh’s 50th birthday in January 2020, she passed her management position to him. Spire Group merged with Oxford Property Group in July of 2020. Oxford had similar concepts to Spire’s business model. In 2022, Josh left the office desk and back to being a real estate agent.
